Description:

A Monopoint is a round or square power canopy used to accept a single track head or point of light.

“Monopoint” is sometimes referred to as an “Uni-light”

Primary Use:

Mono-point lighting is used when you want single points of light and don't want the appearance of hardware intensive linear track lighting on your ceiling.

A Monopoint can be ceiling mounted or pendant mounted. Rigid stand off stems and cables are available in several lengths to insert into the ceiling canopy to give the monopoint the appearance of a pendant or breakfast bar decorative lighting fixture.

A Monopoint can be mounted on a wall and appear to be a wall sconce.

A Monopoint mounted on a weighted base can appear to be an “uplighter.”

The choice of lamp contained in each track head determines the type of lighting pattern.

A Monopoint supports all types of architectural and decorative lamp holders for down, up, indirect, and bi-directional lighting patterns.

Size Options:

Monopoint canopies are available in Small (2”), Medium, and Large sizes.

Mono-point LV Canopy containing the transformer have more surface height than monopoints powered by a remote transformer.

Low Voltage Directional Lamps: MR11; MR16; PAR 36

Line Voltage Directional Lamps: PAR, BR

Voltage Options:

Low Voltage: 12 volt, 24 volt

Each Low Voltage Monopoint requires a recessed or surface power canopy or remote transformer to make it operational.

There are maximum load limitations for LV circuit.

Line Voltage: 120 volt

Monopoints can be wired daisy-chained fashion to offer design repetition and rhythm.

Monopoint light fixtures can coordinate with track units within the same space.

  • A special Monopoint canopy is available for sloped ceilings.
  • Some manufacturers offer a power canopy that accepts more than one light holder. These are called “multi-light” canopies.
  • Monopoint light canopies can be mounted over artwork with a long arm wall standoff for display lighting. TIP: Add a UV lens if mounted close to the artwork.
